This is just CRAZY...still Nothing with the contract! Yet gas prices...UP, milk....UP, bread...up! EVERYTHING UP except POLICE PAY! How about this, to The Powers That Be aka "TPTB" lets NOT give tax cuts to the city and lets put that $ to pay the people who PROTECT the city...gee is it that hard to do! Speaking of taxes our taxes go UP but I guess that is what we get for NOT living in the 5 boroughs..but at least we pay OUR COPS!

This is horrible. They should pay cops for what they do and did. You said it right sister...DISGRACE!
I am a wife of an NYPD officer and I am very proud of my husband. I am very disgusted that the contract is still not settled. Everyday my husband goes to work and puts his life on the line for people who don't respect the cops. FOR WHAT????? The greatest city in the world, right? What kind of city do we live in when the cops are treated like criminals!!! I am sick of the way cops are treated!!!! I am sick of my husband working to barely get by, we have two children and we should not be living paycheck to paycheck. He has to work a million hours of overtime to be able to afford the little things our children need. Which eliminates any family time we can have. The only time he will be able to enjoy his children is when he retires and they will already be grown. THE GREATEST CITY IN THE WORLD....I DON'T THINK SO!!!!!! THEY ARE THE BEST POLICE DEPARTMENT IN THE WORLD BUT THATS BECAUSE OF THE MEN AND WOMEN ON THE FORCE NOT BECAUSE OF THE CITY...BECAUSE THE CITY DOESN'T GIVE A **IT ABOUT THEM!!!!!!! Thanks for giving me a place to vent!!!!!!
I agree that it is a disgrace what Police Officers are paid, especially the $25,000 starting salary. Unless you work a load of overtime as a cop you are always going to be swimming against the tide of better living.
Take the promotional exams, that is the only way to insure that your salary and standard of living will improve. My Husband was just promoted to Lieutenant and it's a nice bump.
